Special event station YB200T Tambora greets the world. To promote tourism to Nusa Tenggara Barat Province, the local authority has launched a year long program to commemorate the 200th year anniversary of Mt. Tambora eruption. The program will culminate on April 11 2015. Planned activities include arts and cultures presentation from Nusa Tenggara Barat, traditional and modern music, as well as sports and adventures. The latter will feature Tambora Bike (408 km from Mataram to Doro Ncanga at the foot of Mt. Tambora), Trans-Sumbawa Long Distance Run (320 km that must be completed in under 64 hours), and Tambora Marathon which will include a round trip hike of the volcano. The provincial ORARI (Orda NTB) under the leadership of YB9GV and YB9KA will activate a special event station between April 5-11 2015, starting around 12Z every local evenings with participations from local ORARI members.
