ARCTIC TOUR
Vlad, UA4WHX has been active as RI0POL since 29 August.
This callsign is being used from the icebreaker MSV Mikhail Somov during her Russian Arctic Coast Expedition along the Arctic Northern Sea Route. Go to http://194.190.129.43/ships/index.html and follow the ship's course. On 31 August Vlad was landed by helicopter on Kolguyev Island (EU-085) and operated as RI1PV for about seven hours on 20 metres CW. Other callsigns to be used during the expedition are:
- R11PVB, from the settlement of Amderma (Nenets Autonomous Okrug) and "areas around";
- RI1OV, from "various islands in the White and Barents Sea", including Novaya Zemlya (EU-035) and the Morzhovets Islands (EU-119); QSL for all callsigns via UA4WHX, see qrz.com for instructions. Updates will appear under each callsign on qrz.com and on DX-World.net
