The same Belgian team that made an attempt to land and operate from Rockall Island EU189 in May 2009 is about to set sail again for their second try.
Only this time they have a much larger vessel with a variety of tools that should warrant a safe landing in almost all sea or weather conditions including a helicopter!
They expect to be on the air around September 27th or 28th depending on how long it takes to get to the rock. Operation from the ship will use ON4ATW/MM .
Estimated travel time is about 4 days from the harbor in Antwerp. Callsign to be used when on Rockall is MM0RAI/P .
Keep an eye on their website http://www.rockall.be for last minute updates and news.

Saturday 24th of September, a day later than planned, we leave for our second adventure to Rockall island, a tiny rock in the North Atlantic.

The expedition sets sail from the port of Antwerp onboard the Cdt. Fourcault. During our 4 day voyage to EU-189 we are QRV as ON4ATW/MM. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather and calm seas. Regular visits to our website http://www.rockall.be/ keeps you updated throughout the entire mission.
