Three operators will leave Budapest on 21st of January 2012. Via LAX and Nadi (Fiji) we will arrive to Wallis. We will finish on 23rd of February 2012.

We will run two stations in parallel 160-6 meters with solid state linears (CW, SSB, RTTY). Focusing on low bands, especially 160, 80, 40 and 30 meters with Spider (18m) verticals. A week long side trip will also be organized to Futuna island (OC118) for IOTA hunters early February. I will also take part on the ARRL CW contest.

It seems Laci HA0NAR will be able to reach Futuna (OC118) for a few days next week. As the baggage is very limited only 100 Watts and a multiband wire antenna will be used. Activity planned 40-10 meters, mainly in CW. Due to the very limited conditions there only one QSO for each station will be accepted. Online log updating will be also provided daily from there.

UPDATE – by FW0NAR/P Pilot Station, KH6CG

I have just been given info from Laci, HA0NAR operating now as FW0NAR on Wallis Island. He will be heading over to Futuna Island, OC-118 on either Feb 13 or 14th for 3 days arriving back on Wallis Island on the 17th. He will be QRV as FW0NAR/P from Futuna using a multiband wire antenna and 100w.

He is asking special consideration from the DX community to ONLY WORK HIM FOR 1 QSO! No Multiband qso’s please since he has limited time there and running low power, he wants to give as many stations a new DXCC or IOTA. Laci asks for me to be his Pilot station which I accepted. Laci cannot take an amp to Futuna because of the limited space and weight restrictions for the 12 seat aircraft. His wife will stay on Wallis Island during his short trip to Futuna. Hopefully there will be good prop for all who need OC-118.

1600-1800 GMT period I will focus on upper bands as we have nice opening to whole NA on 10 or 12 meters (1 or 2 hours just after our sunrise). Our sunset is very good for EU so 0005-0800 GMT will be focused on 20 meters during the night. 40 meters will be used if 20m is not usable anymore. Mainly CW and some Phone at the last days! Around the typical IOTA frequencies 14040, 21040, 28040 CW on 17m 18085 and 24895 on 12m on 40m around 7031-7033. Of course no operation on 80 and 160 meters. I cannot accept any special questions for SKED during this 3 day period.

Log update will appear shortly. Laci said 20 meters was great, but seems he could not use 40 which is extremely noisy during the day and night, maybe QRN from the nearby airport. So he is using 30 meters if 20 does not work during night time. His 30 meter opening was shorter to EU than other days.
