GB2SPC Special Event Station 14/9/2013

A Special Event Station GB2SPC for CHurches and Chapel on the Air, will be active on Saturday 14th September on VHF and HF, and hopelfull also 2m SSB. St Peter's is a Norman Church dating from 12th Century, but has a Saxon Font. It has been modified a lot by the Victorians. There is some stonework in the building that came from The Palace Ruins in Bishops Waltham (see GB2BWP). The original Saxon church on the site was burnt down by the Vikings when they sailed up the river to nearby Botley and raided the surrounding countryside.
