Inviato: 3 aprile 2014, 11:19
From march 15 to september 26 - 2014 the call sign IQ1SP will be active from the Naval Technical Museum of Italian Navy to promote the Exhibition called "the radio in the '900 - from Marconi to the tablet". A special beautiful QSL card will be sent to confirm all contacts during this period.
The idea comes from a proposal of the Museum in collaboration with the local branch of Associazione Radioamatori Italiani (ARI) , to organize an exhibition about the evolution of telecommunications from their dawn to nowdays. The project starts, of course, from Marconi and his experiments carried out in the gulf of La Spezia on july 1897. That experiments led the wireless telegraphy from commercial to military application. Marconi, invited by the Navy Minister, Admiral Benedetto Brin, to give a demonstration of his invention, had at his disposal both the Naval Base of La Spezia and the Shipyard to go deep into further experiments. The Italian Royal Navy trusted , since the beginning, in the potentially of the wireless and a so long and successful cooperation began that brought the Navy to enlist Marconi as a Reseve Officer.
