GB1STG St George's Day Special Event
Inviato: 19 aprile 2014, 7:59
Wednesday 23rd April is St George's Day in England and GB1STG is active on 40m-10m and 2m for local (and not-so-local) contacts to celebrate this special day. We are operating from Galleywood Common which is 2km south of Chelmsford, Essex - around 45km north-east of London. Our operating area is a car-park at the Common which comprises 175 acres that was originally a defensive fortification during the Napoleonic Wars (1803-1813). Later used as a racecourse and golf course, it's now a nature reserve and a popular location for walks, kite-flying and now: Ham Radio.
We aim to be QRV on 40m SSB for "inter-G" contacts for much of the day along with some 20m-10m activity on CW/SSB depending-upon conditions (and weather!). If you hear us on CW, please be patient - we're outside, probably in the wind, and trying to balance the key on a convenient log!
