GB1JSS June Summer Solstice Special Event
Saturday 21st June is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and is known as the June Summer Solstice. The sun will rise at 04:43 and set at 21:21 giving us 16 hours, 38 minutes and 19 seconds of daylight. A group of Essex-based Hams will be active (from as early as possible!) on 40m-10m and 2m for local (and not-so-local) contacts to celebrate this special day with the special call GB1JSS. We will be operating from Galleywood Common, 2km south of Chelmsford, Essex - around 45km north-east of London.
