Inviato: 12 luglio 2014, 6:40Saint John of Dukla, the son of the Polish land, was born 600 years ago.By going to the nearby forests on Cergowa Mountain and Za?pit Hill, he desired to get closer to God, to grasp him by his hand and to stay with him forever. The saintly life he was leading as a young man and then, as a humble friair, resulted in proclaming the heroism of his virtues. Both the ordinary people, and the great kings were talking about his holines what was confirmed by the church. St. John of Dukla was proclaimed the patron saint of Poland in 1739. The Sanctuary in Dukla is the place where his mortal remanins are kept. Still, by his tombm both major and minor miracles occur. Many people regain their health there. The Sanctuary consists of three pilgrimage destinations: the Monastey Church, St. John,s Hermitage and the Golden Well. John of Dukla sanctified innthe Franciscan Conventuals Monastery in Krosno where he started his monastic life and the Bernardine Church in Lvov where he finished his earthly pilgrimage and left to the Father,s House as a saint.
