WW1USA, the Amateur Radio voice of the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial WW1USA.org. The National World War I Museum in partnership with amateur radio will host special event station WW1USA from the grounds of the Liberty Memorial during the centennial observance of World War I. The international centennial observance will take place from 2014 through 2019. WW1USA has selected several significant dates in 2014. the station will be on the air December 27-28 will remember the 1914 Christmas Truce. All Amateur Radio operators who present an operator license on any of the above dates will receive $5 admission to the Museum for themselves and up to three guests. No other discounts apply. December 27-28 1500Z-2200Z, WW1USA will operate from the National World War I Museum to commemorate the Christmas Truce of 1914. This operation is hosted by the Warrensburg Area Amateur Radio Club with assistance from the Joplin Amateur Radio Club. The operation of WW1USA will often coincide with other events held at the Museum to highlight lessons from the first worldwide war. The public is invited to share the experience by stopping by the station site just south of the entrance to the National WWI Museum during the operational dates. Amateur Radio operators from the Kansas City region will be on hand to answer questions about the station and amateur radio, and Museum volunteers will also be available to answer historical questions and to provide information about the Museum and memorial.
