HG16SPORT is a special event station between 27.May until 7.June, on the occasion of the “The Budapest Grand Sport-selection Event”, which was started in September 2007, reached in two years, from the initial 300 visitors and 22 sport-branches, 18 000 visitors and 90 sport branches, with the radioamateur’s activity. The radioamateurs presents the fox hunting activity, high speed telegraphy, HF and UHF activity in the bands. Here, in one place, the visitor can try 80-90 sports, in two days for free. The numbers referred to above indicate well the perspective of the Grand Sport-selection events. The events usually last for two days, Fridays are reserved for groups of schools and kindergartens, and Saturdays are open for everyone. During these two days visitors can try different sports, meet famous world champions, and get interesting experiences. This event helps children and adults also to get familiar with sports and so we could contribute to a healthier society.
