WØCXX is the callsign of the Collins Amateur Radio Club. Prior to that it belonged to the founder of Collins Radio, Arthur A. Collins (1909-1987). Over the years, Collins Radio was acquired by Rockwell, Inc. and exists today as its own entity: Rockwell Collins, Inc. Collins Radio had a rich history in Amateur Radio with such products as the KW-1, KWS-1, KWM-1,2a and 380, as well as the classic S-Line (75S-3A, 32S-3C, 51S-1,30S-1 and 30L-1etc)
The Club has over 175 members in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area. It is supported by Rockwell Collins, Inc. as a company sponsored organization. There are four other "Collins ARC's": W5ROK in Richardson, TX; W4CRC in Melbourne, FL; W6CXX in Tustin, CA; and F6KNZ in Toulouse, France.
There are two Club stations in Cedar Rapids: WØCXX at the south (main plant) campus and NØCXX at the north campus. The stations have Collins HF-380's as well as vintage KWM2a and S-Line stations. We also have the ICOM 756 Pro, Ten-Tec Orion II, and SDR Flex 5000.
