The Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans has issued the written permit for the CY9C DXpedition to St Paul Island (26 August-5 September), and the ARRL has pre-approved the DXpedition for DXCC credit. The permit is for the small Northeast Island, as the main island is now under the jurisdiction of the Canadian Wildlife Service.
A 24-foot vehicle has been rented and reserved for early August to transport a lot of the gear to Dingwall (Nova Scotia), which will be the base for all pre-DXpedition activities. The team will use two helicopters and a boat to transport the operators and the equipment to the island.
Beginning on 26 May, a week long work session for CY9C will take place in North Carolina. Team members W0GJ, W0PR and WA4DAN will meet up and go through and inventory all of the DXpedition gear. The plan is to erect the new operating tents, test and run the seven new generators, assemble and test antennas and inventory all of the coaxial cables.
"The team is very grateful to all the clubs and individuals who have joined our efforts. Additional support is encouraged and can be made through https://t-rexsoftware.com/cy9c".

Preparations are underway for the CY9C DXpedition to St. Paul Island (26 August-5 September). The team has secured a million dollar liability insurance policy; they have tested equipment, packed gear including antennas, tents and generators. Operators have made the first of two financial commitments for what is anticipated to be the most costly CY9 DXpedition to date. Donations are always welcome to help off-set this cost and can be made through https://t-rexsoftware.com/cy9c. Also, bookmark

The DXpedition to St. Paul Island will run six stations on 160-10 metres, and one station for VHF/UHF/EME and satellite.
At any given time, a minimum of 3 stations will be using the new SuperFox FT8 mode.
All antennas will be monobanders, with the exception of 12/17 metres, which will use a duoband beam with a diplexer.
The team will assemble in Dingwall (Nova Scotia) on 24 August. Radio operations will commence on 26 August and conclude on 5 September (both dates are weather dependent).
Two helicopters will transport all gear and operators to/from the island, making this the most expensive St. Paul Island operation ever. As "getting permission for these sensitive areas is becoming increasingly more difficult each year", this could well be the last St. Paul Island operation for many years to come". Financial contributions are gratefully accepted: see https://t-rexsoftware.com/cy9c/ for information.
