Vasanth Guruge, 4S7VG passed away on 14 September at the age of 70. "He was a passionate and dedicated amateur radio operator, who actively engaged in the hobby until very recently", the Radio Society of Sri Lanka said. "Vasanth received his license in the mid-1970s and quickly established himself as a prominent DXer. His involvement with radio went beyond personal achievements; he played a pivotal role in major projects that benefited the entire Sri Lankan community. Vasanth served as President of the RSSL from 2005 to 2007 and again in 2015-16. During his leadership, he spearheaded numerous initiatives that strengthened the society and expanded its reach within the amateur radio community".
