Sad news from Addis Ababa – Sid ET3SID passed away yesterday evening.
Instrumental in setting up the ET3AA club station and helping young operators to become licensed, Sid will be missed.
Amente VA3AXB on behalf of all the club members and students at ET3AA and EARS released the following news:
" I am saddened to announce that Sid May (ET3SID/ AB3OZ /G4CTQ) has passed away. It came as a shock to his family and to all us at ET3AA. As I heard from his family over the phone, he spent the day at ET3AA as usual and it all happened later at night when he returned to his house. Sid was having health problems and was expecting to return to UK shortly on a doctor’s appointment. He was a teacher, a mentor and a father to all of us at ET3AA. We feel very saddened about the news and extend our condolences to his family and wish for his soul to rest in peace. "
