Amateur Radio Administrations Course in Accra Ghana

IARU offers Amateur Radio Administration Courses (ARACs) to developing countries. The primary objective of the ARAC is to train regulators (or prospective regulators) on the administration of the amateur service and amateur-satellite service. The National Communications Authority of Ghana has kindly offered to host such an ARAC in the week of 3-7 June 2013. Participants from Ghana, Kenya and South Sudan came togethher in Accra Ghana to be trained on a variety of amateur radio matters by their instructors ARRL Chief Technology Officer Brennan Price N4QX (9G5AB) and IARU Region 1 President Hans Blondeel Timmerman PB2T (9G5AA).
The ARAC will address the following topics: Organization of ITU and IARU, Nature of Amateur Radio Services, ITU Radio Regulations, Introduction to Amateur Radio Activities, ITU Radio Regulations: Amateur allocations, National Allocation Table and sub-regional arrangements, Implementation of WRC changes, How society can benefit from Amateur Radio, National Licensing and regulations, Amateur radio examinations, International roaming, Emergency Communications and Electro Magnetic Compatibility.
