SUCCESSFUL ARISS CONTACT IN GDANSK POLAND

Saturday October 5, 2013 at 11:37UTC, which is 13:37 CEST, Polska Akademia Dzieci (Polish Academy of Kids) and Language Laboratories, School of Genius (SG) established an ARISS contact with ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano KF5KDP operating with ISS callsign NA1SS. It was a telebridge contact operated by Amateur radio club station W6SRJ, located in Santa Rosa, California.This was the third ARISS contact (two direct) performed by SP2ZIE amateur radio club "Szkuner" from Gdynia.
Language Laboratories, School of Genius (SG), is one of the first language schools in Poland (est. in 1968). The Project Polish Academy of Kids is the first university run by kids on an international scale, where Young Scientists can freely choose their field of scientific interest. Lecturers are from 6 to 20 years old and examine magnetic levitation, the missing links of vertebrates’ evolution or dogs, cats and insects. Polish Academy of Kids was nominated Science Populariser 2011 and 2012 in the contest organised by Science and Scholarship in Poland (Polish Press Agency and Ministry of Science and Higher Education).
Gedania is a sport club located in Gdansk, Hallera 201 street. It was one of the first sport clubs in Poland.
