An enthusiastic contester, he competed in the 1996 WRTC in San Francisco; he also operated from Cambodia (XU7AAZ) and Laos (XW3QBR), and participated in the XY0TA DXpedition to Apaw-Ye Kyun (AS-165), Myanmar.
