Yesterday our buddy Joe DL8WPX (54) suddenly passed away at his residence in Zurich, Switzerland. Many of you know him as DXpeditioner and contester. He was organizer or part of DXpeditions like VK9LM (1991, 1996 and 2014), S21XX, P29VXX, VK9CR, VK9XY, ZL7DK, VK9DNX, VK9DWX, VK9DLX,… Besides DXpeditioning he was an active and enthusiastic contester. He was a major team member of the DR1A crew. He was a leading character of the CN8WW M/M activities around the CQWW World Records 1999/2000. For several years he was active as the organizer of the WAE DX Contest.

He leaves his wife and three children.
