Walter Skudlarek, DJ6QT passed away on 5 July at 77 years of age. A founding member and past President of the Rhein-Ruhr-DX-Association, he was inducted into the CQ Contest Hall of Fame in 2000. He was a competitor at the World Radiosport Team Championships in Seattle (1990), San Francisco (1996) and Helsinki (2002), and served as a referee at the WRTCs in Slovenia (2000) and Brazil (2006). His DXpedition operations started some fifty years ago, and included activity from several African countries and from his contest station on Madeira (CR3L, CQ3L, CS9L, CT9L).
