The doyen of French DXers, Ivan Pastre (F3AT) passed away on 8 November. He had turned 102 seven months ago. Active since the early 1930s, he favoured CW; he was fond of DX chasing and had 339/388 (current/ total) in the DXCC Mixed standings, and 338/354 in the DXCC CW standings.
While in Africa with the Air Force, he operated as FQ3AT from French Equatorial Africa (Chad) and FE8AB from Cameroon in 1947-1948, and as FF8AG while stationed in Bamako (Mali), French West Africa, in 1951.
