Arasu Manohar, VU2UR passed away of Covid-19 on 28 April.
Born in 1939 and active on the amateur bands since 1967 (VU2URZ), he served as Contests & Awards Manager for the Amateur Radio Society of India (ARSI), as well as IARU Region 3 Monitoring System Coordinator from 1999 to 2009.
He enjoyed participating in CW contests, and in 2004 he was awarded the RSGB's Commonwealth Medal for "providing the most improved score or contribution to the Commonwealth Contest". He also participated in several expeditions, notably the IOTA operations from AS-106 (VU7M, August 2012), AS-169 (AT0BI, March & July 2004) and AS-173 (AT0RI, August 2004 and AT5RP, August 2014).
