Central Arizona DX Association : EY8MM - Top Band DXing from Central Asia
The November, 2020 CADXA program was "Top Band DXing from Central Asia" by Nodir Tursun-Zade, EY8MM, the most active and best known ham in Tajikistan. He made his first QSO in 1979 at age 11 from club station UK8JBD. He held the call UJ8JMM since April 1984 and became EY8MM in 1994. As a DXer, Nodir has earned 5BWAZ, 10BDXCC, 5BWAS, and DXCC Honor Roll #1. An avid 160m operator, he has earned both WAZ and WAS and is the first station in Asia to reach the 300 level on Top Band. In 2009, Nodir received the YASME Excellence Award. He has participated in DXpeditions including YA5MM (1992), D44TT (2002-03), AP2ARS (2010), VP8ORK (2011), FT5ZM (2014), VP6R (2019). He has also participated as a Referee or Judge at the WRTC in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018.
