While tearful families greeted their loved ones on the V & A Waterfront quay at Cape Town harbour before the departure of the SA Agulhas II last Thursday, two very excited, joyous radio hams - Nigel Cawthorne from England and Paul Johnson from Cape Town - were wished bon voyage by a small crowd of local amateur radio enthusiasts.
