Some good news about the Icom IC-705, It is finally here! I have spent the last few weeks getting to know the Icom Ic-705, operating qrp portable, and ham radio off grid. The IC-705 is Portable Ham Radio with capabilities on HF, 50mhz, 144Mhz, and 70cm. It is D-STAR capable, and a valid option for off grid communications or preparedness. The IC-705 is an HF VHF UHF radio putting out 5 watts wth its internal battery, or 10 watts with an external supply. It was a complete pleasure operating portable ham radio and QRP with the IC-705. So much so, this rig has become one of my all time favorite QRP ham radio rigs to date.
