Titanic Marconi Radio Room Access Hatch
The Marconi radio room of the RMS Titanic is an area of great interest. Over the last couple of years there has been talk of recovering the controversial Marconi radio also referred to as the “Voice of the Titanic” that was used to send the distress messages from the Titanic as it was sinking in the North Atlantic Ocean. These messages helped save lives.
During OceanGate Expeditions’ 2021 Titanic Survey Expedition our crew, experts, and Mission Specialists explored this area of the wreck. This small access hatch would have been the way for an ROV to enter Titanic’s Marconi radio room and retrieve this important piece of the Titanic. This short video footage is the most recent video of this area of the wreck site. Our mission is to document this important maritime heritage site, but not touch.
