Lagunaria DX Group
NEWS RELEASE – During the 2013 Ham Radio exhibition in Friedrichshafen the foundation of the Lagunaria DX Group (LDXG) was announced. Several operators found together in 2007 when carrying out the VK9DNX DXpedition to Norfolk Island. The group also went to VK9DWX (Willis Island 2008) and ZL8X (Kermadec Islands 2010). And it was the technical and operational brains behind the radio operations of the TX5K Cordell-DXpedition to Clipperton Island in spring 2013.
The intention of the group is not to support other DXpeditions rather than to carry out its own ones. Besides having fun and going on DXpeditions as the main goals the Lagunaria DX Group also supports international understanding, shares technical ideas with others and makes use of high and bullet-proof technical standards.
The group members (DJ5IW, DJ7EO, DJ9RR, DL1MGB, DL3DXX, DL5CW, DL5LYM, DL6FBL, DL8OH, DL8WPX and SP5XVY) are not only all known from a lot of DXpeditions in the past but also passionate contesters of the Bavarian Contest Club (BCC).
After several discussions in Friedrichshafen the group already started planning a new one. More information about this will be available soon.
