Zorro, JH1AJT will be active again as XZ1Z from Nay Pyi Taw, the capital city of Myanmar, on 18-23 September. "He has spotted a better location on top of a 1557 feet hill", JA1TRC says, "and expect to have better signals. He will bring a 10-15-20m tri-band Yagi, in addition to the GPs used last month". This time he will operate mainly CW with a focus on North and South America. QSL via Club Log OQRS (preferred) or JH1AJT. In mid November, the Foundation for Global Children (FGC) will conduct a multi-national team DXpedition to Myanmar for about ten days. Plans are to have 3-4 stations QRV 24/7 on 160-10 metres CW, SSB and digital modes. Further information is expected in due course. [TNX JA1TRC]
Re: XZ1Z Myanmar 18-23/9/2013
UPDATE "Zorro arrived Yangon last night and heading to Nay Pyi Taw this morning (XZ local time) while waiting the customs clearance of the additional equipment shipped this time. He will renew his operating permission at the Posts and Telecommunications Department (PTD) of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MICT) when he arrive Nay Pyi Taw.
Then he will start get on the air as soon as the antennas (GPs for 20 and 17m that he used in August) are set up. We hopefully receive the equipment by the evening of 17th and put up tri-band Yagi beam. The operation will be mainly on CW and focused to North and South Americas. I expect to receive the logs if the hotel Internet connections are stable, and hope to update ClubLog.
In the meantime, QSO data for all those who have requested via OQRS for August operation are being uploaded to LoTW, and planning to do the same for the September operation. Your generous donation to the children in Myanmar can be sent to our PayPal account xz@fgc.or.jp ."
FYI: XZ local time is UTC + 6:30

Re: XZ1Z Myanmar 18-23/9/2013
UPDATE - The second round started at 05:40Z on 17th September 2013, one day earlier than the schedule. We hope that you have at least heard the XZ1Z signal fromNay
Pyi Taw, Myanmar.
Equipment for the second station had arrived at the station site in the morning of 18th, after an overnight run in heavy rain by land transport. We could successfully put up the new tri-bander and it had been working very good as well as the wire antennas for 160/40/30/17m. We now have two stations with three operators, JH1AJT Zorro, E21EIC Champ, and JJ1LIB Ted (he leaves Myanmar in the morning of 20th.)
I will update ClubLog as soon as I receive the logs, however, it may be a part of the logs. Please be patient.
